Observations/Finding

As requested, our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative visited the site for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services, visual observation techniques were employed to assure compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Contractor continued backfill and compaction for Lots #421, #422, #423, #424 and the roadway.

Contractor contined filling building lots with excessively thick lifts.  Our representative continued recommendations for keeping these soil lifts to 12 inches in thickness or less.

Density testing was performed using a Troxler nuclear gauge (#3430, serial #85759).

Density test results indicate that the compacted material met project requirement of 90% of the maximum dry density obtained by the (Standard Proctor ASTM 698).

Density testing result:

P-01 Moisture-Density Relationship (proctor) = 100.4pcf @ 18.6%

T1-elevation -11 feet from finish grade@ lot 422. Yd 93.07, M%15.6, Compaction: 93.3%

T2-elevation -13 feet from finish grade@ road, Yd 95.48, M%17.5, Compaction:95.09 %

T3-elevation -12 feet from finish grade @ lot 424, Yd 97.37, M%18.1, Compaction: 97.0 %

T4-elevation -12.5 feet from finish grade @ lot 423, Yd 94.3, M%16.6, Compaction: 93.9 %

T5-elevation – 2 feet from finish grade @ lot 421, Yd 91.7, M%17.1, Compaction: 91.3 %
