Observations/Finding

Our AS ENGINEERING AND CONSULTING, LLC (ASEC) representative Vidal Dias visited the site at the

request of Jackson Demolition representative Josh Kelly. The undersigned representative was present to

observe, verify and document the ongoing project activities.

During the visit, the following observations were made:

  1. The contractor placed 8910 in a 100 ft trench on the northeast side of the basement in area C7 (on drawing E7200659). The graded-aggregate-base (GAB) placed in the west section of the trench was 8 inches thick, and placement thickness was decreased to 0 towards the east section of the trench. The approximate pitch was 0.67% 
  2. Two compaction tests were taken using the nuclear density gauge. Test 1 measured the compaction at a depth of 6 inches below the surface, and test 2 measured the compaction at a depth of 3 inches below the surface. Testing locations are shown on the attached drawing. 
  3. Textile fabric was placed, followed by the placement of two (2) 20-inch HDPE pipes I.D (18″) O.D 21″. 
  4. No. 57 stone was placed between pipes and trench walls, up to 4″ inches of cover to the top of the pipe. 
  5. No. 57 and No. 24 stone was placed up to eight inches (8″) below the finished grade. 
  6. Materials were placed in accordance with ITP: 012
