Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative noted above, for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services, visual observation techniques were employed to assure compliance with project drawing/specifications.

A proof-roll was requested for the parking lot area for the clubhouse (see photo).  A loaded tandem axel dump truck was used to perform the test.  Significant deflection and movement was observed throughout the entire parking lot area.  Upon excavating approximately 18 inches of surficial soils it was revealed that the underlying soils were a soft clayey material with a high moisture content. (see photo).  This parking lot is located adjacent to a lake and wetland area.  A call to Ram Mogulla, ASEC PE was made with a recommendation to use approximately 1.5 feet of crushed stone as replacement.

Remediation work was not observed.
