Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative noted above, for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services, visual observation techniques were employed to assure compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

The placement and compaction of backfill soils for the water storm pipe trench between manholes, MH AA60 and MH AA70 continued today.

At the time of arrival, our representative observed that work was in progress with soils being placed at depths of about 6 feet below finished grade and compacted using a CP-433E compactor.

Density test results indicate that the compacted materials met the project requirement of 90% of the maximum dry density obtained by the (Standard Proctor ASTM 698).

Note: Moisture contents are still exceeding the specified range.

Density testing was performed using a Troxler nuclear gauge (#3430, serial #85759).  Results are attached.
