Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative noted above, for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services, visual observation techniques were employed to assure compliance with project drawing/specifications.

A request was made by CW Matthews for Nuclear compaction testing for the top lift on the Sewer Enhancement project.  Placement of lifts for graded aggregate base (GAB) or soil was not observed.

Upon arrival it was determined that the top layer of GAB was contaminated with Soil (see photo).  No testing could be conducted.  This information was passed on to foreman at R-C and CW Matthews.
