Observations/Finding
On October 11, 2023, Vidal Dias from AS Engineering and Consulting visited the site at the contractor’s request to observe soil placement activities and perform quality control checks related to dam construction for pond area 2.
Soil Observations
Upon arrival, it was noted that the soil classification appeared to be shifting towards a siltier composition. The excavation area was adjusted, and a soil sample was taken to the laboratory for a Moisture-Density Relationship. The contractor indicated that soils with less clay content would be used preferentially in the lot areas and on the slopes of the dam.
