Observations/Finding

The undersigned ASEC representative was on-site as requested by the Client and/or Contractor to observe topsoil placement outside the building pads on lots 1-3 and the preparation of areas behind the building pad on lots 5 & 6. Visual observation techniques were employed to evaluate the work in place for general compliance with the Project Plans, Specifications, Codes and Standards, and Material Submittals.

Observations at Lots 1, 2, & 3:
The areas highlighted in yellow on the project drawings, located behind the building pads of lots 1, 2, and 3, were observed for the placement of excess topsoil. The soil in these areas is primarily composed of red and tan silty fine to medium sands with clay. Excavation depths varied, with approximately 15 feet behind lot 1 and 20 feet behind lot 3.

The process of spreading and compacting the excess topsoil was monitored to ensure stability and uniformity, following the site’s geotechnical requirements.

Preparation at Lots 5 & 6:
Additionally, areas behind the building pads of lots 5 and 6, indicated in green on the project drawings, are being prepared for the placement of excess topsoil. This involves grading and preliminary compaction to establish a suitable base for the topsoil application.
