Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.  Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

• A proof-roll was performed on the ditch location (highlighted by yellow in sketch).
• A fully loaded tandem-axle dump truck was used to proof-roll the above-mentioned location with multiple passes across the area.
• No severe yielding and/or deflection was observed during the proof-roll at all areas mentioned above. except an area that was muddy (location highlighted by red in sketch).  It was recommended to undercut muddy area and replaced with suitable soils.
• The placement and compaction of backfill soils for Lot #29 and Lot #30 continued this day.

• At the time of arrival, our representative observed that work was in progress with 8-inch lifts being placed at 2 feet below finished grade and compacted using sheep food compaction equipment.
• Density test results indicate that the compacted materials met the project requirement of 90% of the maximum dry density obtained by the (Standard Proctor ASTM 698),
