Observations/Finding

At the request of the client’s representative, AS ENGINEERING AND CONSULTING, LLC (ASEC) representative, Amin Azimi visited the job site to observe and monitor the contractor’s work activities from a quality standpoint to verify compliance with project drawings/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals and conducted QC testing per the project drawings and specifications.  The following observations were made on site this shift:

• Observed the placement of reinforcement for remaining wall 10.
• The reinforcing steel was checked for correct size, number of bars, location of bars, spacing, cleanliness, support against displacement, splicing, clearance and steel grade. Based on visual observations and field measurements, the reinforcing steel at the above-mentioned retaining wall appeared to meet most of job specifications (except one horizontal bar was not in place and some vertical bars were short then specified length limit).
• The contractor was notified of the above-mentioned items. Omitted reinforcing steel was not placed as of today’s date 12/28/2023. The undersigned recommended the omitted reinforcing steel to be completed and that our ASEC rep should be re-inspect prior to the placement of concrete.
