Observations/Finding

At the request of the client’s representative, AS ENGINEERING AND CONSULTING, LLC (ASEC) representative, Amin Azimi visited the job site to observe and monitor the contractor’s work activities from a quality standpoint to verify compliance with project drawings/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals and conducted QC testing per the project drawings and specifications.  The following observations were made on site this shift:

Observed the undercutting of approximately 1.5 feet of soft soils and replacement with suitable material for retaining wall footing 9 (location shown in pictures).

Visually inspected the reinforcement steel for retaining wall 9 footings (location shown in pictures).  The reinforcing steel was observed for correct size, number of bars, location of bars, spacing, cleanliness, support against displacement, splicing, clearance and steel grade. Based on observation and field measuring, the reinforcing steel at the above mentioned, previously omitted reinforcing steel appeared to be placed according to shop/field-use drawing, detention pond retaining wall, 4 of 4, dated 30 oct 2023.
