Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.  Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

• The placement and compaction of backfill soils for the water line in front of Lots #234 through #235, Lot #236 and Lots #181 through #183 was planned for this day.
• Since there was rain the day before, the contractor did not backfill due to the wet materials.
• Note: there were a few previous compaction test failures in the sewer trench between manholes MHSA8, MHSB1 and MHSB2.  It was recommended to undercut approximately 1.5 feet and replace with suitable soils and recompact.
