Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.  Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Nature walk: Footings Inspection (Lot #1007)

  1. Steel Inspection: The steel reinforcement within the footings was visually inspected for size, spacing and quantity. Our representative found that rebar appeared to have been placed according to job specifications for size, spacing and quantity.  In addition, in-place rebar appeared free from soil and debris.
  2. Dirt Inspection: The area around the footings was also visually inspected to verify that the footings were free from loose/wet surficial soils prior to concrete placement.

Nature walk: Grade work continued on Lots #1ooo, #1001, #1002, #1003, #1004, #1005 and #1006.

  • The contractor utilized a Komatsu D85EX bulldozer to perform the cutting of the slopes and general grading.
  • In addition, a Komatsu PC210 LC excavator was employed for stone breaking operations. Equipped with a hydraulic hammer, the excavator was used to break large rocks and boulders encountered on the site.
