Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Seven Hills: Amenities
Due to the rainfall from the previous days, the job site remained saturated with excessive moisture. The contractor elected to continue drying out the site by scarifying (discing) and aerating surficial soils to lower in-place moisture contents.
Savannah Pipeline Company continued the installation of stormwater lines at the amenities job site, located between the clubhouse and tennis court area. Excavation work is being carried out using the Kobelco SK350LC excavator. Compaction efforts are being executed with a Hamm Shep Toe compactor and a remote-controlled compactor. For the day’s progress, the installation of manholes A18, A4, A15 has been successfully completed.
Nature Walk: Lot #995
Lot #995 was graded using a Komatsu 39PXI dozer and a Komatsu PC240LC excavator. No backfilling was done except for the slopes. Rock was encountered during the slope backfilling, Additionally, general probing was performed to verify that surficial soils were stable. A soil sample was collected and returned to our laboratory to perform a standard Moisture-Density Relationship test.
