Observations/Finding

The aforementioned AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative visited the Cottages at Villa Rica site to monitor drilling and rock removal operations. The contractor performing the work was Precision Blasting. The following observations were made on-site:

Blasting Data:

The holes that were blasted today consisted of a small trench pattern in the middle, with two mass rock patterns on either side. The location of this blasting was in-between lot #187 and lot #59, running down the main sewer line towards lots #186 and #61. A total mass rock area blasted was 5,688 square feet with an average pay thickness of 7.99 feet. The calculated volume of the mass rock blasted was 1,684.00 cubic yards. The total trench area blasted was 816 square feet with an average pay thickness of 11.68 feet. The calculated volume of trench rock blasted was 352.89 cubic yards.

Drilling data:

Once the blast was complete the team continued drilling mass rock patterns on both sides of the existing trench. One driller on the side closest to lot #61/62 and the other closest to lot #185/186. This completed today’s drilling operations in preparation for the next blast.
