Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Sun City: Footings Inspection (Lot #15)
A Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) test was performed on two sides of Lot #15, revealing the presence of small stones and rocks
- The Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) observations were recorded to a depth of 1 foot, at which point the auger encountered refusal. The offset was taken, and the following are the recorded observations:
East Side: It can be noted that the area to the east of the job site corresponds to the front of the house.
At Point A (Front), the following observations were recorded:
- At 1 foot depth: 09 Blows (Mix of red and brownish clayey sand).
- At 2 feet depth: The auger encountered refusal.
Point (B) OFFSET:
-
- At 1 foot: 09 blows (Mix of Red and Brownish Clayey sand observed)
- At 2 feet: 10 blows (Mix of Red and Brownish Clayey sand with small stone is observed)
- At 3 feet: 09 blows (Mix of Red and Brownish Clayey sand with small stone is observed)
- At 4 feet depth: The auger encountered refusal.
West Side: It can be noted that the area to the West of the job site corresponds to the Back of the site.
- At 1 foot: 09 blows (Mix of Red and Brownish Clayey sand observed)
- At 2 feet: 09 blows (Mix of Brown and white soft silty sand with small rocks is observed)
- At 3 feet: 09 blows (Mix of Brown and white soft silty sand with small rocks is observed)
- At 4 feet: 09 blows (Mix of Brown and white soft silty sand with small rocks is observed)
The probe appears to be in good condition.
