Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Footings Inspection (Lot #67)
A Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) test was performed on two sides of Lot #67, revealing the presence of small stones and rocks.
- Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) observations were recorded up to a depth of 4 feet below the ground surface, with the following details:
Northwest Side: It can be noted that the area to the northwest of the job site corresponds to the Front of the site.
-
- At 1 foot: 07 blows (Soft Brown sandy soil with small stones is Observed)
- At 2 feet: 08 blows (Mix of Soft Brown and white sandy soil with small stones is Observed)
- At 3 feet: 08 blows (Mix of Soft Brown and white sandy soil with small stones is Observed)
- At 4 feet: 08 blows (Mix of Soft Brown and white sandy soil with small stones is Observed)
SouthEast Side: It can be noted that the area to the Southeast of the job site corresponds to the Back of the site.
- At 1 foot: 08 blows (Soft Brown sandy soil with small stones is Observed)
- At 2 feet: 07 blows (Mix of Soft Brown and white sandy soil with small stones is Observed)
- At 3 feet: 08 blows (Mix of Soft Brown and white sandy soil with small stones is Observed)
- At 4 feet: 09 blows (Mix of Soft Brown and white sandy soil with small stones is Observed)
General probing shows that the subgrade appears to be stable. Minor recommendations included removing loose soils from the footing. The reinforcement appears to meet job specifications for size, spacing and quantity. Rock Boulders are observed in the job site.
