Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Sun City -Footings Inspection (Lot #91-pod 21)
A Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) test was performed on two sides of Lot #91 Pod 21, revealing the presence of small stones and rocks.
- Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) observations were recorded up to a depth of 4 feet below the ground surface, with the following details:
East Side: It can be noted that the area to the East of the job site corresponds to the Front of the site.
-
- At 1 foot: 08 blows (Red clayey sand with small rock fragments)
- At 2 feet: 08 blows (Red clayey sand with small rock fragments)
- At 3 feet: 09 blows (Red clayey sand with small rock fragments)
- At 4 feet: 09 blows (Red clayey sand with small rock fragments)
West Side: It can be noted that the area to the West of the job site corresponds to the Back of the site.
- At 1 foot: 09 blows (Red clayey sand with small rock fragments)
- At 2 feet: 09 blows (Red clayey sand with small rock fragments)
- At 3 feet: 10 blows (Red clayey sand with small rock fragments)
- At 4 feet: 11 blows (Red clayey sand with small rock fragments)
General probing shows that the subgrade appears to be stable. Minor recommendations included removing loose soils from the footing. The reinforcement appears to meet job specifications for size, spacing and quantity.
