Observations/Finding

Our AS Engineering & Consulting (ASEC) representative arrived on site to observe field activities. The following tasks were performed:

Observed the placement of fill/grading for Lots #48through #49today, spread by a 61Pxi Komatsu Bulldozer and compacted using a 815F CAT. Cutting continued from the adjacent roadway using a 349E CAT Excavator and hauling with two 745C dump trucks.  Compaction tests were performed using a nuclear density gauge.  General probing and proof-rolling were also performed to verify stability.

Overall, the results of density testing confirmed that fill compaction met the project and ASTM requirements. However, in-situ moisture contents are still reading higher than optimum.  Results are attached in a separate report.
