Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Our ASEC representative was on site as requested by the contractor (Wilbanks) for the observation/testing of the placement of soils. The technician observed the contractor place 1 lift approximately 8 inches in thickness over Lots #121 through #125 and #112 through #117. Fill materials tested were found to be much higher than optimum moisture content and was left to aerate in place to reduce in-situ moistures prior to compaction.
The contractor placed 8-inch lifts along the retention pond and OCS by Lot #140. The fill thickness today was placed up to 4 to 5 feet. The compaction results were 95% to 98% and within optimum moisture content range (3 percent above and below optimum). All test results were provided to the contractor.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
