Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Our ASEC representative was on site as requested and observed the grading contractor continue placing backfill for the recently excavated firewall pipeline around the perimeter of the building. Due to recent inclement weather, the excavation was too wet to perform backfilling this day.
The slab on grade subgrade soils were visually inspected using a 3/8″ diameter probe rod in order to place gravel for the next concrete pouring. However, general probing found the subgrade very wet with 4 inches of penetration. Recommend the surficial soils be aerated and recompacted prior to concrete placement.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
