Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Excavation and Base Preparation

Excavation Method: Brent Scarborough Company performed the excavation for MH-1 using hydraulic vacuum techniques.

Base Material Placement: The contractor placed No. 57 stone at the bottom of the manhole around the sewer pipe to establish a stable base.
2. Concrete Placement for Manhole Base

Concrete Volume: 5 cubic yards of 24-hour Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) accelerated strength concrete were placed for the base of MH-1.

Concrete Specifications: The concrete is designed to achieve a compressive strength of 2,500 psi within 24 hours, in accordance with GDOT Section 504 specifications. Georgia Department of Transportation
3. Field Testing Results

Slump Test: The slump of the concrete was within the acceptable range as per GDOT standards.

Air Content: The air content measured was within the specified limits.

Concrete Temperature: The temperature of the freshly mixed concrete was within the acceptable range.

Batch to Placement Time: The time from batching to placement was 90 minutes.
4. Compliance and Observations

Visual Inspection: Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and material submittals.

Compliance: Based on the observations and test results, the work performed on this day was in compliance with the project requirements and GDOT specifications.
