Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.  Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Our ASEC representative was on site as requested and observed the grading contractor continue placing fill for the building pads and roadway. The contractor used soils from an off-site borrow and on site cut areas from the southwest corner of the site. Some borrow material was tested for moisture content and found to be higher than optimum moisture content.  Recommended that these soils be spread out and aerated. Fill was placed for Lots #17-20. Nuclear gauge density testing was performed exhibiting compaction of at least 95% with the exception of Lot #20. The contractor was notified of these test results.  Retests will be performed tomorrow.
