Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.  Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Our ASEC representative was on site to observe the potential location to place soils with some topsoil on site. The grading contractor stated there is approximately 70,000 yards of soils with topsoil that will be generated from stripped and undercut areas onsite, and discussions have been with Davidson Homes to place the soils with topsoil ten feet off the rear building lot lines into the backyards. The next building lots for fill placement depth range from seven feet to ten feet for Lots #104 thru #131. In our opinion, the onsite soils with topsoil could be used if materials were dried and placed in compacted lifts. However, the current moisture contents exceed 8% over optimum moisture and could potentially cause severe erosion or sinkholes if not properly place and compacted.

We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
