Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.  Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

On the above date, the technician was onsite as requested by the contractor for the observation/testing of fill/backfill.

The contractor continued placing fill lifts of approximately 8 to 12 inches in thickness across the dam on pond #1 (front right side of site) and pond #2 (back left side of site). The technician density tested each lift and provided all test results to the contractor. Moisture content on pond #1 began to rise above optimum content range, so the technician recommended to aerate these soils prior to recompaction.
