Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Our ASEC representative was on site as requested by the contractor (Wilbanks) for the observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill. Our representative observed the contractor (Randy) proof-roll the approximate locations of Lots #167 – #172 with a loaded off-road dump truck. The results of the proof-roll showed this area to be stable with no severe pumping/rutting.
The contractor began placing fill, approximately 8 to 12 inches in thickness, across these lots. The contractor had placed approximately 4 feet of fill. Approximately 10-14 feet of total fill will be going in on these lots. The contractor excavated fill from the approx. location of Lot #196 (on top of hill).
Mr. Clyde Smith of ASEC met our representative on site and performed nuclear density gauge testing on the lift at the approximate elevation of 791.5. The moisture content was within optimum range and the tests met job specifications for compaction. The test results were provided to the contractor.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
