Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.  Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Cutting and backfilling activities were continued this day. Hauling from within the cut area was carried out by the 845C dump trucks.  Spreading was performed using a 61Pxi Komatsu dozer whereas cutting was performed by a 349E CAT excavator.

Compaction and moisture tests were done using a nuclear density gauge. Most of the tests conducted to subgrade met job specifications for compaction. The remaining (failing) test results were reported to the grading contractor and will be rechecked tomorrow.
