Observations/Finding
As requested, a representative from AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) visited the site to perform quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were used to verify compliance with the project drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and approved material submittals. During the site visit:
The contractor had prepared the slope area located east of Lot #92. Imported soil was evenly spread across the area and compacted using a dozer. For erosion control and stabilization, pine straw was placed on the slope, and sod along with Bermuda grass was installed around House #92. Additionally, the contractor installed single-sided erosion control matting to further stabilize the area. The originally installed 8-inch pipe and 24-by-24-inch drainage box were removed and relocated to a new position at the request of the owner, who was dissatisfied with their initial placement. The existing Bermuda grass around the house was removed due to its deteriorated condition, and new Bermuda sod is scheduled to be installed the following day. Furthermore, hydroseeding was performed using a mix of lovegrass, clover, and fescue to enhance ground cover and promote long-term stabilization.
