Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Our ASEC representative was on site as requested by the contractor (Wilbanks) for the observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill. The contractor began clearing brush and trees from around outside of Lots#15 for the dog park area. The contractor then began placing fill in approximate 8 to 12 inch lifts and compacted via a sheep-foot roller and loaded off road dump trucks. The technician density tested this area. All test results were provided to the contractor.
The contractor requested our representative check Lots #50 through #52 for poor stability. The technician generally probed this area as the contractor cut out wet materials (this area was a temporary detention pond). Once the contractor cut down to 9 to 10 feet of fill, the technician recommended a compacted bridge lift of approximately 2 feet before continuing compaction in one foot lifts. The contractor agreed.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
