Observations/Finding
Our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative visited the Nature Walk Unit 4 phase 1A & 1B site to observe drilling and rock removal operations. The contractor performing the work was Advanced Rock Blasting. The following observations were made on-site:
On Friday, July 25, drilling operations were carried out along Storm Line A9, C-12. The work began at approximately 1:00 PM, utilizing a single drilling machine operated by one crew. The drilling followed a 7 ft x 7 ft pattern using a 3.5-inch bit. The target drilling depth for each location was 16 feet, which was successfully achieved across all boreholes drilled on this day.
A total of 27 holes were drilled during this operation. Subsurface conditions generally consisted of overburden soils underlain by rock. In most of the drilled holes, rock was encountered at depths ranging between 6 to 7 feet. However, in some locations, rock was observed as shallow as 2 to 4 feet below ground surface, indicating some variability in the subsurface profile across the site.
We appreciate the opportunity to assist you with this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We would be happy to discuss it with you.
