Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
The aforementioned AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative visited the Nature Walk Unit 4 Phase 1A &1B to monitor drilling and rock removal operations. The contractor performing the work was Advanced Rock Blasting. The following observations were made on-site:
Drilling operations resumed on Monday, July 28, beginning at approximately 8:30 AM. Three drilling machines were mobilized and operated simultaneously at different locations along Storm Line A9. This area runs from east to west, with crews moving from right to left. The terrain in this section is slightly elevated, which required adjustments in drilling depth as work progressed westward. As elevation decreased, the required drilling depth increased incrementally.
All three drill rigs worked in parallel, starting with slight time gaps between them. The first drill rig continued work from where operations left off the previous Friday, advancing westward along the planned drilling line. Drilling followed a consistent 7 ft x 7 ft pattern using 3.5-inch bits, similar to the previous operation. As drilling progressed across the lots, depth requirements were adjusted based on site conditions, resulting in a range of drilling depths throughout the day.
A total of 153 boreholes were completed during this shift. The breakdown of drilled holes by depth is as follows:
-
33 holes at 16 feet
-
30 holes at 17 feet
-
9 holes at 18 feet
-
9 holes at 19 feet
-
9 holes at 20 feet
-
9 holes at 21 feet
-
24 holes at 22 feet
All boreholes were completed successfully, and the rock profile was consistent with prior observations, and depth adjustments were made accordingly as the terrain changed.
