Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.  Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Our ASEC representative was on site as requested by the contractor (Wilbanks) for the observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill.  The contractor spread approximately 6 inches of soil across Lots #159 through #163 to bring them to finished grade. Topsoil was placed in greenspace areas along these lots and compacted via a sheep-foot roller.

The technician recommended to excavate the soil previously placed from trench along Lots #58 through #61. The soil that was placed was oversaturated and had been placed in too thick of a lift (4 feet). The contractor agreed and stated they would begin excavation on the following workday.

Curbs are being installed along roadways of phase 1. The contractor backfilled the curbs.
