Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Cutting and backfilling activities were continued this day. Hauling from within the cut area was carried out by the 845C dump trucks. Spreading was performed using a 61Pxi Komatsu dozer whereas cutting was performed by a 349E CAT excavator. In Lots #113-119, a proof-roll was performed displaying stable subgrade soils. Proof-rolling for Lots #38, #39, #42 and #43 showed stable subgrade soils, but Lots #40 & #41 exhibited pumping/rutting subgrade soils. In addition moisture and compaction testing for Lots #40 and #41 shows very wet and soft soils
The contractor was informed for the failing tests and proof-roll areas. Remedial work is planned for tomorrow.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
