Observations/Finding

At the request of the client’s representative, AS ENGINEERING AND CONSULTING, LLC (ASEC) representative Amin Azimi visited the job site to observe and monitor the contractor’s work activities from a quality assurance standpoint. The purpose of the visit was to verify compliance with project drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and approved material submittals, as well as to conduct quality control testing in accordance with project requirements.

GAB hauling and backfilling was performed during the night. The GAB was imported using several trucks and was unloaded in the G to J taxiway areas. These materials were spread using a dozer and compacted using a large smooth-drum roller after adding an amount of water. Moreover, the D-G taxiway was also recompacted.  No areas were ready for compaction testing at this time.
