Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials
submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Our ASEC representative was on site for the observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill. The contractor continued placing fill in approximately 2 ft lifts along the roadway leading up to the bridge. The fill consisted of blasted rock approximately 1 ft to 2 ft in diameter. As the contractor compacts the lifts with the sheep-foot roller, it appears to be breaking up the rocks. The contractor is also placing approximately 1 ft of finer material fill to help spread out the rock. Our ASEC representative watched loaded dump trucks as they rode across the lifts. No severe pumping/rutting was observed.
The pipe crew excavated a new SSMH structure and began placing pipe with approximately 1 ft of No. 57 stone as a bedding.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
