Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
On the above date our representative was on site and observed blasting contractor (Advance) complete re drilling of one area and prepare for blasting today. The grading contractor (Thompson) continued dressing and stabilization of embankment slopes and re-compacting building lots at subgrade. The pipe contractor (Savannah) continued installing 8″ DIP sanitary sewer line between structure #9 and A-9. The pipe was bedded on No. 57 stone and backfill begin using on site soil materials. The writer also observed backfill over sanitary line between structure A-9 and A-7 elevation -2.5 below finished grade with probing in place fill using a rounded end steel rod. The fill appeared well compacted and suitable for compaction requirements of 95%.
