Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials
submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Our ASEC representative was on site to observe the contractor (NG Grading) for the observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill. The contractor continued to remove blasted rock material from the northwest pond area onto Lots #22 through #25. The blasted fill material was placed in approximately 1-foot lifts and compacted with a 815 sheep-foot roller. It appears that the rock is breaking down as the sheep-foot makes multiple passes over the lifts. The lifts also consist of an approximate 50/50 mix of rock and finer fill material. This will help in reducing voids and keeping rock pieces apart. It was also noted that as loaded trucks rolled over the installed lifts the area appeared stable. There were no signs of pumping or rutting in this area. The contractor appears to be placing the blasted rock fill in these areas as per direction. The contractor is attempting to complete the pond by Thursday so they can pass inspection for their 7-day letter.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
