Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
On the above date our representative was on site to observe proof-rolling of the roadway subgrades leading into phase 2 along with members from Baldwin Paving and the Paulding County officials. The subgrade soils were proof-rolled using a loaded tandem dump truck loaded with approximately 18 tons of base stone. The subgrade soils appeared stable under traffic with no apparent movement except one isolated area located at the north end of the roadway due to an electrical conduit crossing. It was recommended to undercut the area across the roadway by six feet wide by -6″ deep and replace with additional base stone material. The contractor began placing base stone over the approved areas. All areas observed appeared to be in compliance with site plans and specifications. Note: any approved areas not covered with base rock prior to a rain event must be reobserved prior to placing base stone.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
