Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Excavation and installation continued today at the Cassville Road tract for the French drain (“burrito wrap”) project. Work continued between points C5 and C6, where the crew excavated the soil, installed pipes, and backfilled the trench. At point C6, the crew made a 90-degree turn toward point C7 and installed additional pipe in that direction, followed by backfilling and compaction. No groundwater or slope instability was observed at the time of excavation.
On the other side of the site, the crew cleared the area at the A & B sump for pond excavation and also cleared the section between points A2 and B2. After site preparation, proof-rolling was performed between Building Nos. 64 and 56 through 44. The proof-roll results showed no visible severe movement, rutting, or pumping, and the subgrade appeared stable. Subsequently, the crew placed the first lift (approximately 1 foot thick) and compacted. Work will continue on the next working day.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
