Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Our ASEC representative was on site for the observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill. The contractor continued placing fill in approximately 6 in to 8 in lifts across the Lots #1 through #4 area. The lifts were compacted using an 815 sheeps-foot roller and a smaller HAMM vibrating sheep’s foot roller. ASEC performed density testing in this location and provided all test results to the contractor. Any failed tests were addressed and retested. The contractor is excavating fill material from the commercial lots above the Connex (at the entrance of the site).

The contractor continued horizontal boring under Philadelphia Road to install pipeline near entrance of the new gas station (located on the corner of Philadelphia Road and Hwy 575).
