Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
The crew excavated soil at the H101 pond trench to install Reinforced Concrete Pipe (RCP) and precast concrete structures as part of the pond outfall system. The precast concrete structure was connected to the RCP using concrete to provide a watertight joint. In the middle section, the RCP was installed, and formwork was placed and secured around the pipe to support the structure alignment during concrete placement.
Meanwhile, another crew continued placing and compacting lifts between Buildings #64 and #56 through #44 (approximately 5 feet). Compaction testing was performed.
A new proof-roll was performed between Buildings #65 through #80 – no visible severe rutting or pumping was observed. The area was built up in three lifts, each about 7–8 inches thick, totaling approximately 2 feet, and was compacted.
Additionally, another proof-roll was performed between Buildings #89 through #96. No severe pumping/rutting was observed. The area was built up to approximately 3 feet in four lifts and compacted.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
