Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
On next working day, the crew continued work at Pond 1 and reworked the previously placed topsoil-laden soils. The material was moisture-conditioned and compacted in controlled lifts, and subsequent compaction met with project density requirements. The crew then drained standing water from the pond area and excavated unsuitable wet soils. After removal, suitable fill material was placed and compacted in approximately eight lifts, each measuring about 6 to 8 inches in loose thickness. In addition, soil placement and compaction were completed from the foundation wall to DS3 (Station 9+16), and the work in this area appeared to meet the specified compaction criteria.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you
