Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials
submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Our ASEC representative was on site as requested by the contractor (NG Grading) for the observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill. The contractor continued placing lifts of approximately 6 to 12 inches in size across Lots #14 through #20. The lifts were compacted using a sheep-foot roller. Density testing was performed, and test results were provided to the contractor. ASEC watched as loaded off road trucks rolled across the lifts to check for stability. The lifts appear to be stable. Some of the material appears to have a large quantity of rock. This is a deep fill area consisting of +20ft of fill.

The contractor placed soil lifts across Lots #20 through #25. These lots are within 4 feet of final grade. Density testing was performed, and test results were provided to the contractor. ASEC watched as loaded off road trucks rolled across the lifts to check for stability. The lifts appear to be stable.

The wall crew continued building/backfilling retaining wall #4. The contractor used a small trench roller as well as a large sheep-foot roller to compact the fill. Fill appeared to be placed in 12-inch lifts.  The contractor is attempting to remove any large rock (+1ft or larger) from the fill being used in the wall. Density testing was conducted, and test results were provided to the contractor. Fabric and geogrid installation appeared to be installed as per wall specifcations.

The pipe crew continued installation of storm line along the greenspace approaching the first entrance to the site. Density testing was performed, and test results were provided to the contractor.
