Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
On the above date the writer was onsite as requested and observed the grading contractor continue placing fill for building Lots #61 through #59. Also, the contractor excavated for detention pond stockpiling materials for the slope embankment placement.
The pipe contractor continued installing 8″ PVC sanitary sewer line to manhole #12 and backfilled. The contractor began installing 8″ DIP sanitary sewer line from manhole #12 toward #12A. Hard rock was encountered and the contractor stopped and continued excavation toward manhole #13. Density tests was performed for the 8″ PVC backfill. Compaction results were in compliance with job specifications.
The writer also observed the grading contractor begin excavation and removal of the island and curbing for the new round-about. The writer probed the in- place subgrade soils displaying 12″ of loose materials in place.
Also observed the curbing contractor on site today pouring four single wing curb inlet throats and one double wing curb inlet throat at Unit 4 phase 1B bases for structures using a 3000-psi concrete mix. The contractor poured approximate 8.5 cubic yards.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
