Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials
submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Our ASEC representative was on site to observe the contractor (NG Grading) and for the observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill. ASEC contacted the contractor to see if they were planning to work. The contractor said the site wasn’t too wet and they are placing structural fill today.

Upon arrival to the site, it was raining. The contractor was attempting to spread structural fill across Lot #51. ASEC watched as an off road truck dumped a load of soil and drove off the pad, there was severe pumping present. Density testing was performed, and the tests failed. Test results were provided to the contractor. ASEC informed the contractor the soil was too high in moisture content and that unloaded trucks were pumping across the lift. The contractors stopped structural filling for the day. This area will be tilled and allowed to air dry when the weather gets better. There is more rain scheduled this weekend, so the contractor is rain prepping these areas they began working on.

The front pond was grassed after the topsoil was spread on the slopes.

The wall crew did not show up today.
