Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Crew 1 continued work between points W1 and W2 by excavating the soil to the required depth and dimensions to facilitate sanitary sewer installation. A cut-in manhole was installed and connected to the existing sanitary sewer main at W1. From the newly installed manhole, an 8-inch ductile iron pipe (DIP) was installed and extended toward W2 for a total length of approximately 56 feet. At W2, a new manhole was installed and securely set in place. Following pipe and manhole installation, backfill material consisting of No. 57 stone was placed between the manholes. The final lift was completed using graded aggregate base (GAB), which was compacted using a double-drum roller.

Crew 2 began work between existing manholes V0 and V1. The crew installed an 8-inch ductile iron pipe extending toward V1 for a total length of approximately 57 feet. Following installation, backfill operations were performed using suitable soil material placed in controlled lifts of approximately 6–8 inches. Each lift was compacted using a double-drum roller.
