Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials
submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Our ASEC representative was on site to observe the contractor (NG Grading) and for the observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill.
The grading crew continued placement of soil along the greenspace/slopes located near Lots #44 and the #96-97 area. ASEC observed the contractor placing lifts of approximately 12 inches in size and compact with a sheep-foot roller. ASEC watched as loaded off road trucks rolled across the lifts to check for stability. There was no severe pumping or deflection present at this time.
The pipe crew de-mucked the front detention pond and stockpiled the mud/topsoil to be placed in greenspace areas at a later time. Riprap was placed around the OCS/drainage structures located in the pond. The pipe crew then began installing sewer line SSMH1.5 to SSMH3.0. This area was density tested and test results were provided to the contractor.
The wall crew showed up to clean up loose dirt around the wall (as requested by the grading contractor). The wall crew threw a large amount of soil/large rocks over the wall during the installation of retaining wall #5, and it has clogged up the silt fence along the property line. The wall crew spread the piled-up soil and compacted it with the excavator’s bucket. This area will be spread with grass to help with erosion control.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
