Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Crew continued working between points V0 and V1 by performing backfilling operations using suitable soil material placed in lifts of approximately 6 to 8 inches. Each lift was compacted using a double-drum roller. The crew then placed No. 57 stone bedding and installed a reinforced concrete pipe (RCP), extending from the existing RCP in the south direction. The pipe joints were aligned and sealed using mortar. Following pipe installation, additional backfill material was placed in lifts and compacted.
Crew continued working between points W1 and W2. The work progressed up to manhole W2, where an 8-inch ductile iron pipe (DIP) had been previously installed. Backfill material was placed around the pipe and structure in lifts of approximately 6to 8 inches and compacted using a double-drum roller to and 3 to 4 feet of temporary backfill was placed because the contractor said they would rework this area while installing the pipes on points of A which pass-go through point w2.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
