Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
On the above date our representative was on site to observe the grading contractor continue breaking rock using a single tooth ripper at building Lots #42 and 43 and placing fill for Lots #63 thru 66. The writer performed density tests using a Troxler Nuclear gauge model 3430, serial no. 01643. The contractor spent approximately 4.5 hours using a ripper to break up rock today.
The pipe contractor continued backfilling an 8″ sanitary sewer line added between manholes #9 and 9.1 which was observed and tested by our representative. Compaction results were found to meet job specifications.
The water line contractor also continued installing 12″ ductile iron water line at Nature Walk Boulevard between manholes #4 and 6. The writer also observed placed concrete at the water vale box installed for the kicker. The backfill was probed using a rounded end steel rod and appeared compacted as per job standards.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
