Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials
submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
On this day, the contractor continued topsoil placement within previously excavated areas at the opposite end of the project site, near Lots #37 through 43. Topsoil was placed and spread evenly. As this material is non-structural, no compaction testing was required. Placement was visually observed.
Simultaneously, structural fill placement resumed in the roadway area adjacent to Lots #37–43. Fill was placed in 16-inch loose lifts and compacted. A total of four (4) lifts were placed and compacted in this section. At the end of the workday, approximately four (4) additional lifts remain to achieve the required design elevation in this area.
Additional roadway work began near Lots #31, 52, and 53. One (1) lift of structural fill was placed and compacted in the roadway section near Lot #31. In the area adjacent to Lots #52 and 53, two (2) lifts were placed and compacted. Lift thicknesses appeared consistent, and operations progressed. Continued fill placement and testing will be required to bring all sections to final subgrade elevation.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
