Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.

On this day, manual Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) testing was performed in Lots #50B and 51B to a depth of 5 feet. In Lot #50B, testing was performed at the back of the lot near the south left corner while facing toward the lot. The soil encountered from 1 foot through 5 feet consisted of red sandy silt. The recorded blow counts were 7 blows at 1 foot, 9 blows at 2 feet, 14 blows at 3 feet, 15 blows at 4 feet, and 17 blows at 5 feet. The soil type remained consistent throughout the depth, and no organic material was found. The gradual increase in blow counts with depth indicates increasing soil resistance.

Additional testing in Lot #50B was performed at the south right corner while facing the lot from the road. The soil in this location was identified as red silty sand from a depth of 1 to 5 feet. The blow counts recorded were 8 blows at 1 foot, 9 blows at 2 feet, 13 blows at 3 feet, 15 blows at 4 feet, and 18 blows at 5 feet. No organic material was observed, and the soil profile remained uniform throughout the tested depth.

In Lot #51B, DCP testing was performed at the back of the lot near the south left corner while facing toward the lot. The soil encountered at 1 foot and 2 feet consisted of red silty sand with blow counts of 9 and 13 blows, respectively. At 3 feet deep, black soils was encountered. An additional test was performed approximately 2 feet offset toward the center of the lot, where red silty sand was observed at 1 foot with 15 blows recorded, and rock was encountered at a 2-foot depth. Some black dirt was also noted in this lot during testing.

Overall, the testing indicates predominantly red sandy/silty soils with increasing soil resistance with depth in Lot #50B, while Lot #51B showed localized presence of black soils and shallow rock in certain areas.
